Helium Health Wins AI for All Impact Challenge for CareCopilot

Helium Health has been recognized at the AI for All Impact Challenge for its AI-powered clinical assistant, CareCopilot.

The award highlights the platform’s role in strengthening frontline healthcare delivery, particularly in primary care settings where workforce shortages and documentation burdens continue to strain clinicians.

Supporting Clinicians in Real Time

CareCopilot is designed to assist healthcare workers during patient consultations by listening, generating structured clinical documentation in real time, and supporting evidence-based decision-making. Rather than replacing clinicians, the platform augments their work by reducing administrative load and improving workflow efficiency.

Globally, the healthcare workforce faces a projected shortfall of more than 10 million workers by 2030. In many low-resource settings, clinician-to-patient ratios remain critically low. In some regions, there is approximately one doctor for every 10,000 people. Tools that improve efficiency without compromising care quality are increasingly essential.

Built for Real-World Clinical Environments

CareCopilot is developed using longitudinal African healthcare data and designed to integrate into existing clinical workflows. The platform aims to support up to 1.5 million patients across 500 healthcare facilities by 2026.

By automating documentation and surfacing structured clinical insights during consultations, CareCopilot enables clinicians to spend more time focused on patient interaction while maintaining accurate medical records.

Speaking at the summit, Shona O. Oluwatola, Lead, Public Health Program Development at Helium Health, emphasized the broader importance of responsible AI adoption in healthcare:
